out of where?

Occopied with being in love with fictional characters again instead of working on the fucking thesis. Yes, I know, you call that "procrastinating". I'm THE expert.
But. I just don't know where to start, and usually I just start somewhere and trust my inner sense of structure to bring me to the point. The fact that I have to present my working plan at the colloquium next Wednesday keeps me from getting into my own work rhythm. Or maybe that's just a pretext I use so I can worry about fictional problems of fictional characters instead of starting to solve my own (which try to convince me they're real, I'm not sure whether I should believe them). Most likely it's both: having to answer to other people really does get me off doing things I'd like to do if I'd be on my own with them, but I also tend to brood over perfect fictional love especially when I have a deadline to meet.

Last night after our d&d session (d&d, listen gals!) I couldn't sleep so I thought about the thesis and lots of other stuff, when suddenly my NaNo project's ghost cut in and played the next scene before my inner eye. I couldn't do anything but watch my story take a new direction quite different from the one I had planned (planned?? who are you kiddin', luv?). This one's much more close to making sense than the other one, though, and I'm going to follow it.
Sadly NaNo counts as procrastination, too. Yay dilemma.

Clue as to where to start working, anyone?
